Due to the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, please print and complete an application via our website at https://www.yumaschools.org/District/5272-Untitled.html.  Applications can be mailed to Yuma School District, Attn: Janna Young, 418 S Main Street, Yuma, CO 80759 or scan/email to hr@yumaschools.net.  At this time, please refrain from coming into the office to drop off or pick-up an application. If you do not have the ability to print out an application, please contact the district office at 970-848-5831 and we can mail one to you.

High School Principal

Yuma School District-1 in Yuma, CO is looking for a collaborative, self motivated instructional leader who is community minded to serve as Yuma High School Principal.  A pro-active person who can create and maintain a climate that supports and enhances meaningful learning experiences while preparing students for responsible participation in society.
Duties
:
To administer and supervise the organization and operation of the best possible learning environment for students of the school.  The principal models and sets high standards to ensure quality learning experiences that lead to success for all students. The principal leads and supports a school community that is committed to and focused on a system of learning.

  • Ensure that the school has met state accreditation, accountability and school improvement requirements by addressing school wide student academic achievement.
  • Implement effective instructional and curricular practices responding to the needs of students, the direction of the District, and valid innovations in education within a standards-based model.
  • Utilize appropriate resources of the staff, student body, school district and the community to develop and maintain highly effective instructional and co-curricular programs
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of the building including supervision of the budget/expenditures.
  • Provides direct supervision of approximately 25 certified and 20 classified staff members.
  • Develop and maintain effective communications among the students, the community, the faculty and the administration.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:
- Minimum five years teaching experience (prefer secondary).
- Possess a MA Degree or higher. 
- Possess A valid Principal's license or be eligible for same at the time of employment.
- Knowledge of Educator Effectiveness/SB 191 implementation
- Knowledge of ELL strategies and implementation
- Preparedness to implement common core standards.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Administrative experience preferred but not required.

Salary:
Commensurate with experience and education/minimum 
11 Month Contract

Preschool Para

High School Diploma and experience with children preferred. 

Works under supervision of Preschool Teacher..

Works with small groups of Preschool Students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher and assists individual children in need of special attention.

Assists the teacher with non-instructional classroom duties, such as snack, toilet and clothing routines. 

JOB GOAL: To provide a well-organized, smooth functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.
