Good Morning YSD-1 Families,

Our plan for school on Thursday, February 16th:  We will have school at our regularly scheduled time today with storm routes for bussing.  Thank you for your patience as we continue to work through snow and road conditions. We do understand that our out of town families may have some challenges with county road conditions. Please continue to make decisions for school attendance based on your individual family needs and road conditions in your area.  Please communicate with your bus drivers if you are not able or not planning to meet the bus and contact your child's school office if your child will be late or absent.

Nuestro plan para la escuela el jueves 16 de febrero es que hoy tendremos clases en nuestro horario regular con rutas de tormenta para los autobuses. Gracias por su paciencia mientras continuamos trabajando a través de la nieve y las condiciones de la carretera. Entendemos que nuestras familias que viven fuera de la ciudad pueden tener algunos desafíos con las condiciones de las carreteras del condado. Continúe tomando decisiones sobre la asistencia a la escuela en función de las necesidades individuales de su familia y las condiciones de las carreteras en su área. Attention Yuma School District Parents:

Due to deteriorating weather and road conditions, YSD-1 will be releasing students at 2:00 pm today.  Please make arrangements to pick your students up anytime prior to the 2:00 dismissal time. If you need to make alternative arrangements, please contact your child's school. All after school activities will be canceled. Thank you.

School Plan for Friday December 16th

This is an important message regarding YSD-1’s  plan for school on Friday December 16th 2022

At this time, the plan is that ALL YUMA SCHOOLS WILL BE OPEN. 

No District Bus Transportation will be provided.  

Safety is our priority,  therefore student attendance will be based on parental discretion.  If you feel it is appropriate and safe for your child to attend, and you have transportation and open roads, we encourage your child’s attendance.  If you have any concerns, you may choose to keep your child home.

Absences will be excused as long as a parent contacts their child’s school office.  Morris Elementary and Yuma Middle School will have temporary numbers.

YHS will be hosting freshman orientation on Wednesday, August 10th from 1:00 to 3:00.  We look forward to seeing you there.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: AUGUST 4, 2022 

SCHEDULED EMERGENCY RESPONSE and REUNIFICATION TRAINING EXERCISE

On Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Yuma School District-1 in partnership with Yuma Police Department will conduct an EMERGENCY RESPONSE and REUNIFICATION TRAINING EXERCISE at Yuma High School. During this event, Main Street from 9th to 10th Street will be closed. All district offices and schools will be closed during this time. 

This exercise will also include the following responding agencies:  Yuma District Hospital, Yuma County Sheriff's Office, City of Yuma EMS, Yuma Volunteer Fire Department, Wray Police Department, City of Wray EMS, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado School Safety Resource Center, and the City of Yuma, Colorado.

EJERCICIO DE ENTRENAMIENTO PROGRAMADO DE RESPUESTA A EMERGENCIAS Y REUNIFICACIÓN
El jueves 11 de agosto de 2022 de 8:00 a. m. a 1:00 p. m., el Distrito Escolar 1 de Yuma, en colaboración con el Departamento de Policía de Yuma, llevará a cabo un RESPUESTA A EMERGENCIAS Y EJERCICIO DE ENTRENAMIENTO DE REUNIFICACIÓN en la Escuela Secundaria de Yuma. Durante este evento, Main Street desde 9th hasta 10th Street estará cerrada. Todas las oficinas del distrito y las escuelas estarán cerradas durante este tiempo.

Free/Reduced Lunch Information

Parents, please note that the State of Colorado will no longer be providing free breakfast and free lunch to all students for the school year 2022/2023.  It is very important that all families fill out the Free/Reduced Lunch Application for the year 2022/2023.
