Parents/guardians of all NEW and RETURNING students who will be enrolled at Morris Elementary School or Yuma Middle School come to the school to complete the required paperwork and receive important information for the 2017-2018 school year.

*If you have a student entering kindergarten, please bring your child with you to registration. Kindergarten teachers will be available to meet students and parents/guardians and complete a quick assessment with your child while you're completing enrollment paperwork.

It is important that you attend registration anytime between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm so we have an accurate count of students to plan and prepare for. PLEASE NOTE THAT YUMA MIDDLE SCHOOL SCHEDULES WILL NOT BE GIVEN TO STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT COMPLETED THEIR REGISTRATION PAPERWORK PRIOR TO THE START OF SCHOOL.

YMS will be offering free physicals for 6th, 7th and 8th grade on May 18th beginning at 8:00 am. Packets went out yesterday.

Yuma Middle School is pleased to announce our Spring Choir and Band Concert on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 @ 1:00 p.m. in the YMS gym for grades 4-8

Thanks to generous donations from our community we were able to make our range much bigger this year. 6th graders are getting a ton of shooting this morning!

Dear Parents; 
The Northeast Colorado Health Department is conducting the Communities That Care (CTC) Survey on April 18, 2017. Students in grades 6th and 8th have been selected to participate in this survey. The CTC survey measures alcohol, tobacco, and drug use; the factors that place students at risk for problem behaviors; and the factors that protect students from problem behaviors. The purpose of the study is to gather the information needed to plan important prevention and intervention programs to combat such problems as alcohol and other drug use and violence in our schools and communities. It will also help us judge the effectiveness of our current prevention and intervention efforts. I have a copy of the survey instrument in my office, if you wish to stop by and review it. The survey is entirely anonymous. Students will not put their names or any other identifying information on the survey booklet. All results from the study will be presented only in group summary form, like many opinion polls. Additionally, your child’s participation in the survey is completely voluntary. Each child will be given the option of leaving blank any question that he or she prefers not to answer. You may decline to have your child participate, if you wish. If you do decline, your son or daughter will be allowed to read or participate in some other alternative activity while his or her classmates are taking the survey. The survey is being conducted under contract with Bach Harrison L.L.C., 116 S 500 E, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84102, a nationally known research firm. Please let me know in writing by April 14, 2017 only if you do not wish your son or daughter to participate in the study. Congratulations 7th grade-Pizza on Friday, April 14, 2017

Lola Mathias, through the Liberty Day Institute, gives of her time to bring knowledge of the Constitution to our fifth graders! The Liberty Day Institute provide educators with a unique opportunity to really bring the Constitution home to their students by connecting them with a classroom speaker. Former fifth grade teacher, Jan Brian, assisted Lola Mathies this year in teaching the students.

The Yuma Middle School Racers club is open to all students in grades 4-8. Bring a debit or credit card for payment as you will be registering them online. Over 150 students took letters home showing interest in participating this year.
